Toons Story

Toons inspirtional story includes a plane ticket, a fortune-teller and a Las Vegas streak of luck.

After years of Living in New York, Toon decided it was time to return to her native land of Thailand for good. She settled in and commenced a job search.  She was greeted with hopeful "we'll be in touch"  yet none resulted.  The persistent job search was then distracted by the visit of her brother, who lived in the States.

For fun they decided to stroll into the care of a neighborhood fortuneteller.  The fortuneteller then proceeds to tell Toon and her brother that he would be staying in Thailand for good an that Toon would be returning to the States.

That the twists and turns of life take her back were everyone will know her name.  That she would see great success due to her name.  To say the least Toon left in disbelief. Months later she was entertaining some friends who came to visit.  Spending most of the time in Bangkoks casinos.

Due to a lucky streak they offered Toon an all expenses paid trip to the Las Vegas casinos.  She took them up on their offer.  They won about three million dollars.  Unfortunately they lost most of  the money in the next day.

After Vagas, Toon decided to head to New York to visit some friends.  While in NYC she saw a store-front on Bleeker St for rent.  Curious as to how much it cost to rent, she decided to call.  The phone call resulted in a string of calls due to the owner's unwillingness to even throw a number out due to Toons lack of experience.

This in turn only made Toon more determined and opened her world to the idea of being a restaurateur  Finally after  what is believed to the thirteenth call the owner through out a number.

The number was beyond Toon's means but now it was set in her head that this was the route she wanted to tackle.  She went ahead and put all she worth into the first months rent and worked feverishly to get the store-front into the condition she envisioned.

She formed a friendship with a contractor that resulted in his investing twenty thousand into the business.  When discussion came about as to the name of the restaurant. 

Toon initially wanted to name it Samut Thani Cuisine after her home town.  The partner simply said  I can't even pronounce that, were naming it TOONS after debating back and forth the birth of "Toons Bangkok cuisine"

Once the doors opened "Toons" was an immediate success which lead to many featured write up's and her name being well known throughout the city.  Just as the fortune-teller predicted.
